SPAM
Amazing – Spam is getting even easier to spot by humans and a bit harder by programs. I didn’t think the first part was even possible.
I don’t know about you all, but the spam I get now is ridiculous. They don’t actually $p311 0ut 4 51n613 word anymore. And the “From” field is even more bizarre. Names along the lines of “Intermingle F. Turtleneck” and crap like that.
I used to actually track down the phone numbers of spamming groups and call them up. It was at least good for a laugh, even if it maybe didn’t accomplish anything.
It’s amazing how I have to guard my personal email addresses so fanatically. There’s a reason I have 4+ email addresses.
The flappingcrane contact address got its first spam yesterday. You know. For Cialis. I can’t wait for them to start phrasing them like: “NINJA! N33D 4 L1TTL3 43LP D0WN5T41R5?”

I started gettinig spam at my work email address last week. It wouldn’t bother me so much if it was like most of the spam that goes to my hotmail account (my “honeypot” email). Oh no…this has been full-blown in your face porn spam. And the damn filter on Eudora has not been catching it. I haven’t had much of a chance to train it, yet, but come on…you would think there would be some basic rules set up to catch crap like this.
