Two Things I Learned…

… about the vi editor today. I’ve been using this sucker for nearly 10 years. I started using it way back in 1996.

Anyway, the first is that you can switch between open files with “CTRL-^”. I usually just use multiple xterms or Terminal.app’s, but this is quicker and handier.

Also, I learned that you can use > and < to increase or decrease indentation. I suppose it's kind of embarassing that I've used vi for so long and never knew about those these things. Eh. I'll bet Chris still uses pico. Or would, if he had it installed. Anyway, it's always funny when someone's watching you open up Terminal.app and using vi on a text file. If they have little or no *NIX background, that is.
