To continue on the spam theme…

I have an old, old email address on flappingcrane.com.

Hasn’t been used for anything for 5 years.

Last time I checked it was almost 1 and a half years ago. Lots of spam there. Just checked it today.

Nearly 8000 spams.

I don’t know if I should be astonished or amused. That’s over 15 spams/day.

For fun, I downloaded them into Apple’s Mail.app. It identified about 5500 as spam. Not the greatest success rate, though I think that the fact that Mail.app uses a certain “learning” type of filter combined with the age of some of these email is a factor.

I’m probably going to just shut it down. That takes up disk space on my web host. And I obviously never read it.
